Psychological services that are rendered by the Center for Psychology are voluntary and patients are insured strict confidentiality under the Ohio Revised Code. No information is released about a patient's file, except with their prior written consent. Exceptions to this law apply only in the case of suspected child abuse, or where a patient may be at risk of harming him or herself, or at the risk of harming someone else. In these cases, the therapist is bound legally to inform the appropriate authorities and to take action. All records regarding a patient's case are kept in locked files and are encrypted if they take electronic form.

All efforts are made to insure that patients from the same workplace do not encounter each other when coming to and from their sessions, as there are several entrances and exits to and from our offices which are located in a public building that houses a variety of services.

All therapists adhere strictly to the Code of Ethics of the American Psychological Association as it pertains to the issue of confidentiality.
